Beijing Foton Cummins Engine Co., Ltd., established in 2008 as a 50:50 joint venture between Cummins, a global power solutions leader, and BAIC Foton Motor Co., Ltd., a prominent Chinese commercial vehicle enterprise, primarily focuses on manufacturing light-duty, medium-duty, and heavy-duty diesel engines.

The company's development is marked by several crucial milestones:

• In 2006, the first ISF engine was successfully ignited in Darlington, UK. The same year witnessed the signing of a joint venture contract between Foton and Cummins.

• 2007 saw the official establishment of Beijing Foton Cummins Engine Co., Ltd.

• In 2009, mass production of Foton Cummins ISF was achieved, boasting a production capacity of 400,000 units and leading the industry.

• In 2013, annual sales surpassed 100,000 units, and the ISF4.5 Euro VI engine was offline and exported to the UK.

• 2014 marked the start of mass production of the ISG engine.

• 2016 witnessed successful annual sales exceeding 200,000 units.

• On March 26, 2017, mass production of the Foton Cummins ISG12 engine was initiated; on November 28 of the same year, the one millionth engine rolled off the production line successfully.

• The Auman ZF automatic transmission heavy-duty truck released in 2019 is adapted to the Cummins ISG series engine. This series of engines is equipped with XPI 2000 bar ultra-high pressure injection technology, ensuring superior fuel atomization and sufficient combustion. The efficient NEMO turbocharger offers a very high intake efficiency, with a fuel conversion rate as high as 42%. Compared to products of the same displacement and type, the vehicle can save 2 to 3 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers.

• Since the introduction of the ISG series platform in 2014, the Beijing factory of Foton Cummins has utilized data analysis to deeply comprehend the operating conditions of heavy-duty truck engines in diverse application scenarios and customize and optimize the engines based on customer requirements. It has not only launched the ISG11, ISG12, and ISG13 traction efficient transportation engines for the traditional dominant market but also introduced the engineering version engine based on the upgrade of traction transportation in 2018.

The product portfolio of Foton Cummins encompasses the Cummins F series 2.8-liter and 3.8-liter light-duty, F series 4.5-liter medium-duty, and G series G11, G12, G13, G11 engineering version, and G12N natural gas version heavy-duty engines. As one of the largest light-duty diesel engine production bases in China, Foton Cummins has consistently strived to become an outstanding provider of global intelligent power solutions.

The company's factory is equipped with an engine manufacturing system designed in line with world-leading technical and quality control standards. The equipment features a high degree of automation, and preventive error-proofing technology is extensively employed. It has obtained certifications such as ISO/TS16949. The ISF series 2.8-liter and 3.8-liter light-duty in-line four-cylinder high-pressure direct injection diesel engines it introduced into production have notable characteristics like a compact structure, light weight, low noise, and low emissions. They meet the emission requirements of Euro III (National III), Euro IV (National IV), and Euro V and can be readily upgraded to comply with more stringent emission regulations. They are suitable for various light vehicles, small construction machinery, small generator sets, and other off-road equipment.
