Cummins' Engine Joint Ventures in China: Driving Industrial Progress

Cummins has six engine assembly joint venture enterprises in China. Here is the detailed information:

1. Chongqing Cummins Engine Co., Ltd., abbreviated as CCEC, was established in 1995. It was jointly founded by Chongqing Machinery & Electronics and Cummins of the United States with a 50:50 share ratio. Its predecessor, Chongqing Automobile Engine Factory, started designing and manufacturing diesel engines in the 1950s. The company mainly produces heavy-duty and high-power diesel engines, such as NT855, K19, K38, QSK19, QSK38, QSK50, QSK60, and QSK72 models. The products are widely assembled by major Chinese original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and are exported globally. It serves as the starting point of Cummins' localized production in China, the earliest engine joint venture enterprise, and Cummins' largest specialized manufacturing plant for heavy-duty and high-power engines in China.

2. Dongfeng Cummins Engine Co., Ltd., abbreviated as DCEC, was jointly established by Dongfeng Motor and Cummins of the United States in 1996. The main models encompass ISD, ISL, ISZ, ISB, and other series, such as the ISZ13-liter engine, which is extensively utilized in the heavy truck domain.

3. Xi'an Cummins Engine Co., Ltd., abbreviated as XCEC, was jointly founded by Shaanxi Automobile Group and Cummins of the United States in 2007. It mainly manufactures ISM11-liter fully electronically controlled heavy-duty diesel engines, as well as QSM11-liter fully electronically controlled engines for industrial applications and generator sets.

4. Beijing Foton Cummins Engine Co., Ltd., abbreviated as BFCEC, was jointly established by BAIC Foton and Cummins of the United States in 2008. It is mainly dedicated to the production of light-duty, medium-duty, and heavy-duty diesel engines. The main models include ISF series (2.8 liters and 3.8 liters), ISG series (11 liters, 12 liters), X11, X12, and X13, among others.

5. Guangxi Cummins Industrial Power Co., Ltd., abbreviated as GCIC, was jointly established by Liugong and Cummins of the United States in 2012. It mainly operates in the construction machinery sector. The main models include QSB7, L9.3, etc.

6. Anhui Cummins Power Co., Ltd., abbreviated as ACPL, was officially established on December 26, 2018. It is a 50:50 joint venture between Jianghuai Automobile and Cummins of the United States. The company is committed to the upgrading and transformation of the Hefei production base, optimizing the product line, introducing Cummins' new B series product platform, and tailoring products for China's National VI emissions and the requirements of the Chinese market and users to enhance performance and efficiency and meet strict emission regulations. The main models include Cummins B4.0, B4.5, etc.

The products of these joint venture enterprises are widely employed in both road and off-road markets, including heavy-duty vehicles, construction machinery, buses, light commercial vehicles, pickup trucks, power generation, ships, and other fields. They play a significant role in Cummins' business operations in China.
